Tybee Island, historically known as “Georgia’s Playground”, was incorporated in 1887. The island is the northernmost barrier island in Georgia and is approximately 15 miles east of Savannah. Rich in history, authenticity and collaboration, the town is successful in preserving community, commerce and culture to honor past, present and future generations.
